Allegany County Announces New Brand Family and 2027 Strategy
New regional tourism partnership, economic development identity and county brand refresh position Allegany County for what’s next.
BELMONT, N.Y. — October 6, 2026 — Allegany County is entering 2027 with more than a new look. It is entering a new chapter.
Over the coming months, residents, businesses and visitors will begin seeing a coordinated evolution of several familiar brands as Allegany County strengthens its regional tourism partnerships, launches a new economic development and tourism identity, and refreshes the county’s overall brand. Together, these changes create greater consistency in how Allegany County presents itself while giving each area of its work the identity and tools it needs to connect with the people it serves.
The Western NY Wilds is going regional. Working in partnership with surrounding rural counties, Allegany County is excited to help launch a collaborative regional tourism program that will promote the unique experiences, communities and landscapes found throughout rural Western New York. The effort builds on the success of Western NY Wilds while giving participating counties an opportunity to market the region collectively, broaden their reach and encourage visitors to explore beyond county lines.
As WNY Wilds grows into a regional program, Allegany County recognized the opportunity to create a specific identity for its economic development and tourism efforts. That opportunity has become Advance Allegany County, the new brand supporting business attraction, retention, expansion and tourism. The brand will help guide how Allegany County tells its story to businesses, entrepreneurs, investors, visitors and residents.
2027 is more than a launch pad for a new look. It is a springboard for how the County intends to move economic development and tourism work forward, with a focus on helping existing businesses grow, attracting new investment, putting vacant and underutilized commercial spaces to work, and encouraging visitors to discover Allegany County. Advance Allegany County will replace the county’s previous local economic development and tourism branding while continuing to build on the relationships, programs and work already underway.
With WNY Wilds expanding regionally and Advance Allegany County taking shape, the county’s overall brand was the next piece of the puzzle. Allegany County is introducing a refreshed brand designed to provide a more consistent visual identity across county government. The refresh builds on the identity residents have known for many years while introducing a cleaner, more modern visual system. New colors and typography provide a professional, approachable look that can be used consistently across county communications, facilities, digital platforms and printed materials.
The goal is not to erase the county’s history or identity, but to create a stronger and more recognizable way of presenting Allegany County today. The refreshed brand also provides greater clarity about the departments and programs that are part of county government.
The county’s existing seal will not disappear. It will be reserved primarily for ceremonial, historical, and formal uses, while a refreshed county mark will be used for everyday communications and countywide branding.
The brand work also extends to several county departments. New or updated identities have been developed for the Office of Probation, Emergency Management, and the Department of Health. The result is a connected family of brands that makes it easier to recognize Allegany County as the organization behind its many departments and services, while allowing each department to communicate its own mission.
Residents can expect to see the new identities introduced gradually as projects are completed, signage is updated, and existing materials are replaced. Together, these changes represent more than updated logos. They create a more connected story for Allegany County and support the work ahead as the County moves into 2027.
