Third annual tournament hosted by Notah Begay III features men’s and women’s teams, free admission and six hours of live Golf Channel coverage
The tournament’s Golf Channel coverage will be led by Notah Begay III and Ryan Burr. Begay, a New Mexico native and four-time PGA TOUR winner, is a Golf Channel analyst and 2026 recipient of the PGA TOUR’s Payne Stewart Award presented by Southern Company. Burr is a veteran sports broadcaster whose career includes NBC Sports, Golf Channel, ESPN and other national sports networks.
The men’s field includes North Carolina State University, the University of New Mexico, New Mexico State University and the University of Houston. The women’s field features NC State, UNM, NMSU and the University of Oklahoma.
Each team will play three matches, with five points available in each match. Total points will determine the men’s and women’s champions.
For Begay, the tournament brings college golf and national television back to the state where he grew up playing the game.
“I grew up playing golf in New Mexico, so having these players come here and compete on national television means a lot to me,” Begay said. “Fans can get close to the action and see some really talented college golfers at Twin Warriors. Admission is free, and I hope people from across New Mexico will come out and be part of it.”
SIX HOURS LIVE ON GOLF CHANNEL
Golf Channel will televise three hours of live competition each day. Ryan Burr will handle play-by-play with Begay serving as analyst. Amanda Blumenherst and Gary Christian will report from the course.
Coverage is scheduled for 5-8 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Sept. 29, and 4:30-7:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Sept. 30. Viewers can watch all six hours of live tournament coverage nationally on Golf Channel.
Twin Warriors Golf Club is located at Santa Ana Pueblo near the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa. Set against the Sandia Mountains, the course will host the NB3 College Matchplay for the third consecutive year.
Spectators can attend both days free of charge. The event will also include an autograph area where junior and high school golfers can meet participating college players.
