Norwegian Crown Princess Gets at Least Two Invitations to Epstein’s Island

(MENAFN) Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit received at least two invitations to visit the private island of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, though there is no evidence she ever traveled there, according to reports citing newly disclosed documents.

Email records indicate that Epstein extended multiple invitations to the crown princess, and his personal calendar includes an entry from January 2013 labeled “Princess Mette to the Island.”

Despite these references, a review of the available documents found no confirmation that Mette-Marit ever stayed on the island, as stated by reports.

Palace representatives also denied any such visit, with a communications official saying the crown princess “has never been to Jeffrey Epstein's private island.”

The documents further suggest that after spending the Christmas holidays with her family on a Caribbean island, Mette-Marit later traveled on her own to visit Epstein at his residence in Florida in the United States, according to reports.

Additional emails point to regular interaction between the two. Epstein reportedly invited the crown princess to lunch on several occasions, while she invited him to dinner, indicating ongoing contact. One message cited in the documents shows Mette-Marit writing to Epstein: “I miss my crazy friend.”

Following the release of a new batch of Epstein-related files by the US Justice Department on Friday, the crown princess addressed the matter publicly on Saturday, acknowledging that she should have been more cautious. “I deeply regret that, and this is a responsibility I must take. I showed poor judgment and regret ever having any contact with Epstein. It is simply embarrassing,” she said.

She also conveyed her support for those harmed by Epstein, expressing her “deep sympathy and solidarity with the victims of the abuse committed by Jeffrey Epstein.”
